Hapoel Jerusalem defeated Slask Wroclaw 86-69 as Jared Harper paced the reds to even their EuroCup record at 2-2. After a slow start, the Jerusalem started to turn on the offense as Jared Harper, Roi Huber and Austin Wiley all scored while Kadre Gray, Noah Kirkwood and Stefan Dordevic countered for Slask Wroclaw but the reds took a 49-28 lead at halftime. Dmytro Skapintsev started to scored for Yonatan Alon’s team as Gray and Jakub Niziol began to cut into the lead, but Anthony Lamb, Khadeen Carrington and Harper closed out the win. Harper scored 20 points while Lamb and Carrington each scored 12 points in the win as Niziol and Gray scored 15 points a piece in the loss.

“We’re focusing on ourselves, it’s good to win,” summed up coach Yonatan Alon. “My players did a great job. We had to make a big mental effort to win, and I’m proud of them for that. We’re athletes, and our goal is to improve every day. We’ll move forward from this game and aim to get better. I’m very pleased with the victory — we had to overcome ourselves in some of the things we do, to fight our own demons. The guys proved that we have mental strength. Holding the opponent to under 70 points — that’s our number, and I’m happy.”

“A good game from us for most of the minutes,” summarized Roi Huber, who scored 9 points. “Even when they came back, we made the right plays to win the game. Now we’re looking ahead. We got back to playing our game — basketball is a game of momentum. They had their runs, but so did we. It feels good when the team wins, that’s the important thing. I helped the team win today. We have a long season ahead of us, and we want to get back on the winning track in the league as well. I’m not looking at this as a turning point — we had two losses in Europe, and we wanted to improve. We’ll try to improve from this game too.”
