The Sports Rabbi Josh Halickman lives in Jerusalem, Israel! 

7 hours behind the East Coast and 10 hours behind the West Coast, The Sports Rabbi gives you a unique perspective on sports. He can wake up to the beginning of an NBA playoff game and go to sleep following a Champions League Match.

I have interviewed some of the biggest names in Sports! From Tommy Lasorda to Coach Tom Penders, from Doug Glanville to Bob Ryan The Sports Rabbi has spoken to them all!

Joshua “The Sports Rabbi” Halickman was born in Montreal and raised in Montreal. A veteran of over 1600 live sporting events (!) Josh never misses out on a chance to see a game!

The lifelong fan of the Montreal Expos (May they rest in peace), New York Yankees (back from the Don Mattingly days), Montreal Canadiens (It’s been a while since a Stanley Cup Parade), Montreal Alouettes (go Marc Trestman!), the Red Bull(Metrostars), New York Rangers (season ticket holder for 9 years), New York Knicks(when they used to be good), New York Jets (J-E-T-S, JETS, JETS, JETS!) Los Angeles Lakers(Magic is my all time favorite) also loves European sports and has traveled all over Italy watching the likes of AC Milan(I saw the most fantastic Ronaldinho strike vs, FC Braga), Inter Milan (My First Serie A love) and AS ROMA (Francesco Totti is the MAN).

Josh is also a HUGE fan of Israeli Sports and is a season ticket holder for the Maccabi Tel Aviv Basketball team and travels the country to watch Maccabi Haifa, Beitar Jerusalem and other football clubs. In addition, he is a die hard fan of NASCAR, Formula One and Boxing.

Josh is currently the financial manager of Keshet: The Center for Educational Tourism in Jerusalem and has over 15 years of accounting experience dating back to his days in the United States. In addition, Josh is President of Torat Reva Yerushalayim, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing Bible study classes to those that can not get to one, including Seniors in senior residences, nursing homes, senior centers and classes for mothers with new babies. He also teaches a class in Contemporary Issues at the Midreshet Devora Seminary in Jerusalem, as well. Josh owns Send A Sefer.com book & seforim service and is a Sofer Stam (scribe). Josh has a BS in Accounting from the Sy Syms School of Business of Yeshiva University in New York. Josh and his wife Sharona along with their three boys Dov, Moshe & Yehuda have lived in Jerusalem since 2004.
