Three months later and we are officially underway. Despite losing to a talented Ramat Gan Givatayim team on opening night, it showed us many areas where we can improve as a team. Elijah and I got to compete against a fellow \u201cD3Pro\u201d in Daniel Rosenbaum, and we got to feel that \u201creal game\u201d atmosphere again, something that had been taken away for so long. Due to Coronavirus restrictions, they only had about 10 fans in the stands, and somehow they made it sound like the gym was packed. Now all National League games are live-streamed for free, so it was great to get to play in front of friends and family again. Unfortunately for us, we have to sit with the loss for an extra week, as we have a bye this round. However, that gives us time to prepare for a talented Ashkelon team, who we host next Tuesday. <\/p>\n
Now onto draft night. Never did I expect that I\u2019d be watching the NBA draft in the middle of the night, but it\u2019s not everyday that two Israelis are expected to be selected, one of them being a projected lottery pick. I was lucky enough to experience the beginning of this process with Deni and our agent, Matan, when I joined them in Atlanta in late-August for some pre-draft workouts, as Josh and I talked about on our last podcast. It was clear to me from the beginning, he\u2019s ready for this. Seeing it all come together last week knowing how hard they both worked to get to that point was special, but they know the real work starts now. If there\u2019s one thing I\u2019m confident about, it\u2019s that the Washington Wizards got the steal of the draft at #9. And congratulations to Yam Madar as well, who got selected by my hometown Boston Celtics with the #47 overall pick. Good luck to Deni and Yam as they begin their NBA journeys, we\u2019ll all be watching. <\/p>\n
