After a goalless first half, Lucas Ventura was yanked down in the box which allowed Kings Kangwa to help the southern reds to a 1-0 lead via the penalty spot in the 61st minute. But just minutes later, the port city squad found the equalizer as Karim Kimvuidi scored a terrific one touch goal in the box.

Eugene Ansah then handed Haim Silvas’s squad the lead as he took the ball from midfield and beat keeper Niv Eliasi in second half injury time. However, just as Ashdod looked to have taken all of the points, Helder Lopes scored in the box for Ron Kozuk’s team to salvage a point for their efforts.

Hapoel Beer Sheva Head Coach Ran Kozuk said, “I’m satisfied with the draw, but disappointed with the game. We missed opportunities, but defensively we can’t be conceding two goals. They had fewer chances than us but they just knew how to take advantage of them. We were too hasty, not focused after the first goal and on their second goal we lost concentration. If it had to end in a draw, it should’ve stayed 1–1.”

Ashdod bench boss Haim Silvas summarized the game, “I’m disappointed with the situation, when you’re leading 2-1 and concede in the last attack, in this context, I’m disappointed. My players gave everything, Beer Sheva controlled the game, but it went exactly as we planned and wanted.”

Bnei Sakhnin and Maccabi Haifa played a dramatic 3-3 draw as Trivante Stewart’s brace, both with both goals coming via the penalty spot, was cancelled out Ahmed Salman’s late second half penalty to split the points. Mathew Cudjoe sent a left footed stunner from outside of the box to give Sakhnin a 1-0 lead in the 14th minute, but Stewart slotted home a pair of penalties early on in the second half to give the Greens a one-goal advantage.

But Eden Shamir knotted the match up at 2-2 with a shot from the top of the box in the 60th minute. However, just minutes later, Abdoulaye Seck headed home a Michael Ohana corner kick for a 3-2 lead, but in the 88th minute Peter Agva pushed down Ibrahima Drame in the box allowing Ahmed Salman to score the late penalty to draw Sakhnin even and take a point.

Maccabi Haifa Head Coach Barak Bachar said following the game, “It’s the third time this has happened to us and it’s frustrating. We worked on it and simulated such situations and again we made a mistake and paid for it. It’s a shame. It’s a tough pitch and when took a 3-2 lead, again couldn’t hold it. We have a break now maybe at a good time, maybe not but we need to recover and work on many things.”

Bnei Sakhnin Sharon Mimer also spoke about the draw, “Last week we conceded from a penalty and a set piece. It’s a shame about these easy goals and I’m very disappointed. We caught Haifa on a day when we got into their box many times, I think we threatened more and were more dangerous. We deserved to win but fell short on small details.”

Kiryat Shemona downed Ironi Tiberias 3-2 as Adrian Ugarriza scored a first half brace and added a late assist to set the tone for the northerners who took the 3-points and the win. Before the game was 15 minutes old Ugarriza had already handed Kiryat Shemona a 2-0 lead, however, just ahead of the break Guy Hadida pulled a goal back to cut the advantage to a lone marker. Yair Mordechai added a third goal for Shay Barda’s squad in second half injury time while Muhammed Edu found the back of the goal minutes later to once again cut the lead down to 3-2, but that would be as close as Eliran Hodeida’s team would get.

Kiryat Shemona bench boss Shay Barda discussed the victory, “We won despite not playing well. We weren’t good enough. After going up 2-0 we panicked a bit and sat back and that’s unacceptable to me. We’ve shown good ability since the start of the year despite the results, and today it balanced out a bit. We beat a good team.”

Tiberias Head Coach Eliran Hodeda said, “We conceded very soft and easy goals from long balls. We came back in the first half and created enough chances, but in the second half we weakened. We’re conceding too many goals and the center backs aren’t positioning themselves properly in many situations.”

Maccabi Netanya clipped by Maccabi Bnei Reineh 2-1 as Matheus Davo scored the winning goal in second half added time to snatch the victory and the 3-points. Oz Bilu opened the scoring for the diamond city side in the first half but Asil Knani drew Reineh even in the 71st minute. However, Li-on Mizrachi sent Davo a perfect ball into the box that the Brazilian striker slotted home to tale the late win.

Maccabi Netanya Head Coach Yossi Abukasis said, “We should’ve finished the game long before the 90th minute. On their first real chance, we conceded but it was a deserved win. We gambled at the end with attacking players and I said it’s either one point or three and it worked.”

Bnei Reineh bench boss Adham Hadiya commented on the tough loss, “In terms of ability, we’re there. We could’ve made it 2-1 when it was tied and we wanted to score. Netanya barely created chances in the second half and yet again we leave empty-handed. Now we have the break, we’ll need to reorganize and hope some players return.”

Hapoel Jerusalem and Hapoel Tel Aviv played to a dry goalless draw as each team took a point in the capital city.

Hapoel Tel Aviv Head Coach Elyaniv Barda summed up the draw, “We created chances and not scoring is part of the game. We managed to take a point, even if you can’t really be satisfied with that, especially when you’re Hapoel Tel Aviv. We lifted ourselves up in the second half, but it wasn’t enough.”

Hapoel Jerusalem bench boss Ziv Arie also commented, “I won’t get into professional analysis right now; we’ll keep progressing in our process, but we haven’t had a single match this season with a full roster.”

Hapoel Beer Sheva and Ashdod played to a thrilling 2-2 draw at Turner Stadium as the two teams split the points.
