Gefen began the day wby defeating Yerin Jung from South Korea in her opening bout and then advances to quarterfinals by beating Binta Ndiaye from Switzerland.<br \/>\n<div id=\"attachment_115780\" style=\"width: 2570px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-115780\" src=\"https:\/\/sportsrabbi.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/20240728-2014160-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"2560\" height=\"1661\" class=\"size-full wp-image-115780\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sportsrabbi.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/20240728-2014160-scaled.jpg 2560w, https:\/\/sportsrabbi.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/20240728-2014160-300x195.jpg 300w, https:\/\/sportsrabbi.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/20240728-2014160-768x498.jpg 768w, https:\/\/sportsrabbi.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/20240728-2014160-1536x996.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/sportsrabbi.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/20240728-2014160-2048x1328.jpg 2048w, https:\/\/sportsrabbi.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/20240728-2014160-610x396.jpg 610w, https:\/\/sportsrabbi.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/20240728-2014160-1080x701.jpg 1080w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 2560px) 100vw, 2560px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-115780\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Gefen Primo &#8211; Photo credit: Israel Olympic Committee<\/p><\/div><br \/>\nHowever, Primo lost to Distria Krasniqi from Kosovo in the quarterfinals moved down to the Repechage bracket where she ultimately came up short against Pupp.<\/p>\n<p>Primo, who was in tears, spoke about her showing minutes after being eliminated, \u201cI haven\u2019t had that much time to digest what happened. I started the bout well but there wasn&#8217;t much of a fight, she caught me and from there it was too late. The hole in my heart will never be filled, it&#8217;s hard, that&#8217;s not how I wanted to end the day. I&#8217;m sorry it ended like this. I want to send love to my family and thank you for all of the support and thank you to my club as well.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Also on the Judo mat, Baruch Shmailov competing in the -66kg category, defeated Abderrahmane Boushita from Morocco who refused to shake the Sabra&#8217;s hand after the first bout. It&#8217;s sad and painful, especially when there are so many Israelis here that I heard in the stands. I fought for everyone and for my country, but unfortunately it was not enough.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Monday will see Judokas Timna Nelson Levy and Tohar Butbol in action for the blue-and-white. <\/p>\n<p>Over in the Women\u2019s Artistic Gymnastics, Lihie Raz finished the preliminary qualification round in 16th place with a score of 51.632 in her All-Around results that includes the Floor Exercise, Vault, Balance Beam and Uneven Bars. In the Men&#8217;s 200m Freestyle, Denis Loktev advanced to semifinals with a time of 1:47.01, but ended 8th in his heat with a time of 1:47.93 and was eliminated from advancing to the final. Adam Maraana was eliminated in his qualification heat for the Men\u2019s 100m Backstroke. Lea Polonsky also didn\u2019t advance in her Women\u2019s 200m Freestyle heat.<\/p>\n<p>In Fencing Yuval Freilich competed in Epee and was eliminated in the Table of 32 by Italian Andrea Santarelli 15-13 after leading early on 6-1.
