This week on the Pulpit Podcast, I had the honor & privilege to speak with Rabbi Yehoshua Ellis who is the Chief Rabbi of Katowice, Poland.

Poland you ask? Yes! Rabbi Ellis and his wife Raissa are in Katowice to help with the Jews of the area, the youth and the “Hidden Jews”!

Not only is Rabbi Ellis a Rabbi, he is a Shochet, a ritual slaughterer as well for the town and surrounding areas.

Just a mere 40 minute drive away from the city of Oswiecim, the city on which the Auschwitz/Birkenau Death Camp lies, Katowice was once home to 10,000 Jews.
