Newly-promoted Hapoel Lev Jerusalem sign two foreign players for upcoming season

The newly-promoted Hapoel Lev Jerusalem is close to finalizing its roster for the upcoming Israeli Women’s Premier Basketball League (the Athena Winner League) season, with the announcement that they have signed two foreign players, Delicia Washington, a 5-10 guard from Clemson University (class of 2022) who also played three years at the University of Florida and Angela Tompkins, a 6-2 forward from Wichita State (class of 2018).

Both players have played in top European leagues, with Washington playing last season with Italian side San Martino where she averaged 13.7 points, 6.4 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 2 steals in 32.8 minutes, while Tompkins started last season with Turkish side Antalya (averaging 27.1 points, 12.4 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.3 steals in 34 minutes) and Greek side Panathlitikos (averaging 17.2 points, 10 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 0.6 steals in 33.2 minutes). Both players most-recently played in the Mexican National Professional Basketball League.

“I am super excited to meet everyone,” Washington said of the upcoming season. “Definitely ready to get to work. I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this team! Let’s Go!”
Tomkins shared the same sentiments: “I’m looking forward to meet my teammates. I am very excited to play for the club and hope to do the best of my ability and to win as many games as possible. See you soon in Jerusalem!”

The players join an already impressive roster of experienced Israeli players, including Alex Cohen, Alyssa Baron, Shir Tirosh, Noor Kayuf and Hodaya Kabada.
