Maccabi Tel Aviv have made a bold move as they have signed guard Aaron Jackson to replace the injured John Dibartolomeo and Nate Wolters. Jackson comes to the Yellow & Blue from China where he most recently featured for the Zhejiang Guangsha Lions and averaged 16 points and 10 assists in a shade over 35 minutes per game. The Duquesne University product played in the Euroleague for both Bilbao in Spain and most recently with CSKA Moscow where he starred for the Russian club between 2012-2017 and won the Euroleague title in 2016.

After a short spell in the NBA with the Houston Rockets, Jackson headed to China where he played for the Beijing Ducks. The 33-year old will now return to Europe’s top competition where he will be an important cog in Coach Ioannis Sfairpoulos’s offense.

Aaron Jackson told the official Maccabi Tel Aviv Website: “First I want to say thanks to the Maccabi’s management and to Coach Giannis Sfairopoulos for giving me the opportunity in joining this club that has 6 EuroLeague titles. I’m excited to put on that yellow jersey and help my teammates make the City of Tel Aviv proud. Can’t wait to play in front of the best fans in Europe”.

Ioannis Sfairopoulos commented on the signing: “At the moment of the season that we are now, and after the serious injuries that we had the owners did their best to bring a quality player to the team. For one more time I want to thank them for what they did to bring to the team a player as Jackson. I want to also thank the management for all the effort to make this transfer happen.

Jackson is very experienced player in the euroleague has quality as a player inside and outside the court and I’m very happy that we will have him with us helping and jelling into the already quality roster that we have.”
