Hapoel Jerusalem dunked all over Hapoel Beer Sheva 90-72 to stay perfect early on in the season. Sean Kilpatrick filled the basket early for the reds while Retin Obasohan and Jalen Adams also scored in bunches to help the hosts to an 18-point win.
Kilpatrick scored 28 points, Obasohan added 16 points and Adams chipped in with 15 points for Oren Amiel’s team. Dererk Pardon and Warech scored 16 points a piece for Rami Hadar’s squad in the loss.
“We expected a tough and physical battle when you play a team coached by Rami Hadar,” Jerusalem coach Amiel explained following the victory. “It doesn’t matter what day or what time when you play his team. We found some joy in our game and that’s what I wanted to do to build the confidence of the players.”

Jalen Adams also spoke about the win, “We came out, set the tone and played with good energy and made the extra pass. When we do that we will be ok.”

Sean Kilpatrick got to work right from the outset with a pair of triples and 10 points to pace Hapoel Jerusalem to a 23-13 lead after the first quarter. Amiel’s squad kept scoring in the second frame as Jalen Adams joined Kilpatrick in pouring in the points as Amir Bell and Dererk Pardon tried to keep the game close but the capital city reds stayed in control up 47-34 at halftime.

Jerusalem came out strong to begin the third quarter as Kilpatrick and Retin Obasohan scored from both inside and outside to bump the reds lead up to 70-52 after thirty minutes of play. Travis Warech began to heat up from the outside as Beer Sheva cut the lead down to 10-points but Adams put on a show down the stretch to secure the victory.
Hapoel Galil Elyon walloped Maccabi Rishon Le’Zion 80-62 to win their first game back in the top league. Barak Peleg’s squad put the pedal to the metal early and scored often as Isaiah Eisendorf dropped five triples for 15 points to get things rolling while Chavaughn Lewis (18 points), Ike Iroegbu (16 points) and Bryce Washington (12 points) also contributed in the victory. TJ Williams led Rishon with 22 points for Guy Goodes’s team.
