Hapoel Jerusalem 74-59 Nes Ziona
Hapoel Jerusalem demolished Nes Ziona Saturday night winning by 15 points. Jerusalem got off to a red hot start leading 24-9 at the end of the first quarter and never looked back. Jerome Dyson led scoring for Hapoel Jerusalem with 15 points and 6 rebounds, Yotam Halperin recorded 13 points with 3 rebounds and Alen Omic added 10 points. Talib Zanna was the big factor for Nes Ziona notching a double double scoring 21 points and 12 boards.

Maccabi Ashdod 80-90 Maccabi Tel Aviv
Maccabi Tel Aviv beat Maccabi Ashdod 90-80 on the road after a close battle that saw the Yellow & Blue pull away at the end of the contest. Jake Cohen led the charge for Maccabi Tel Aviv against his former team scoring 19 points with 6 rebounds, John Dibartolomeo was close behind him recording 15 points and 4 assists. Artsiom Parakhouski nearly had a double double with 14 points and 9 boards. David Laury III guided Ashdod and chalked up a near double double with 20 points and 8 rebounds. Cameron Long supplemented him with 16 points with 3 assists and Nimrod Levi also helped adding 14 points in the loss.

Hapoel Eilat 69-70 Bnei Herzliya
Herzliya squeaked by Eilat Sunday night, winning by only 1 point in what ended up costing Meir Tapiro his job with the Red Sea squad. Herzliya was up by 6 points at the end of the third quarter but Eilat wasn’t going down without a fight and the last 10 minutes of the game they outscored Herzliya 23-18 but their effort proved futile. Dawson led Herzliya with 25 points and 5 rebounds, Xavier Thames supplemented him by scoring 13 points with 4 boards and Dominique Archie nearly had a double double with 11 points and 9 rebounds. Jordan Loyd led the charge for Hapoel Eilat recording 21 points and 6 rebounds. Demetrius Treadwell and Damion Jones also had double doubles as Treadwell notched 13 points and 13 rebounds, while Jones added 11 points and 14 rebounds.

Hapoel Holon 104-74 Maccabi Rishon Lezion
Holon dominated Rishon Lezion winning by a score of 104-74. Joe Alexander guided Holon with 29 points and 3 assists while Tamir Blatt backed him up with 22 points and 5 boards. TaShawn Thomas also recorded 18 points with 6 boards as Glen Rice Jr. had a near double double recording 12 points and 8 assists. Mark Tollefsen led Rishon Lezion with a double double dropping 19 points and grabbing 10 boards.

Nahariya 83-73 Maccabi Haifa
Ironi Nahariya were poised to respond well against bottom of the league Maccabi Haifa after last week’s loss away in the Galil, yet at the end of the first frame the Greens were up by 9 points. That lead dwindled to 3 points by halftime with Ironi never looking back through the second half as man-mountain Tyrone Nash made the paint his own with an astonishing 14 rebounds and 9 points. Ironi’s attacking talent was left to their fiery duo of Alex Young and Corey Webster. While Haifa will surely be disappointed with yet another loss, Rahimi’s men had a few notable performances. Workman (8p, 7r) was Maccabi’s only chance of combatting Nash around the hoop, Martinez (15p, 3r), and Oz Blayzer (12p, 3r) all put in a decent effort.

Hapoel Tel Aviv 86-88 Hapoel Gilboa/Galil
Though Gilboa did a good job to create a early lead, they never managed to open it up, being chased hard by Hapoel. The driver behind the hosts push against Gilboa was directed by Tywain McKee and Adrian Banks each scoring 17 points and bringing down 2 rebounds. Notable performances also came from Jeff Allen (8p, 10r), Tomer Ginat (9p, 8r) Rafi Menco (14p, 7r), and Jerel McNeal (14p, 2r) though they weren’t enough to stop Gilboa. The visitors’ savior of the day was without a doubt J’Covan Brown who brought in 28 points and 5 rebounds with his side kick Tyler Stone putting in an admirable performance as well (11p, 8r).
