The Sports Rabbi had a chance to catch up with Tyrese Rice ahead of Bamberg’s Basketball Champions League Final Four semifinal clash against Bologna in Antwerp. Rice, one of the Maccabi Tel Aviv legends from the 2013/14 Euroleague Championship season not only hit important shot after important shot for the club but he left his mark on every Yellow & Blue fan as one of the favorites in a magical year.
The Euroleague and EuroCup Final Four Champion and Most Valuable Player will look to add his third European title and perhaps yet another MVP Award.
Winner;
“I just want to win. I just want to win the game. When you win championships everything else comes after that. Normally the winner has an MVP we won the Cup earlier in the year and Nikos Zisis with a major, major shot and he was the MVP. That’s the stuff that matters.”
Work:
“It just work and I tend to think that I’m a pretty hard worker. I put up extra shots on days off and after practice. It’s just work and it doesn’t have to do with anything else. When you get on the court playing the game is easy.”
Love:
“I have nothing but love for Tel Aviv and Maccabi. It’s a very, very special place. It turned out that we ended up having a great. People only remember the championship, but we remember the whole journey. It was rough at the beginning so for us to come out with a championship af tee that and have those fans stay with us all year is something really special.”
