Oz Blayzer who recently joined Maccabi Tel Aviv spoke about signing with the club and the expectations for the upcoming season:
“I am happy and excited to be here at Maccabi Tel Aviv and up until now I saw them from the other side. I can’t wait to get started.”
Proving he belongs at the top:
“First of all it’s getting to the top and to one of the biggest team’s in Europe and of course in Israel. That was a goal that I gave myself to get to the top of the league and the top of Europe and now I have to prove that I belong here.”
Ready to do what it takes to succeed:
“They spoke to me about what I have done in the Israeli league and what type of mentality that they are looking to have at the club. I have to learn the role that I am going to play here as it will be different than the one I had with other clubs. But I am ready to do anything and I am waiting for my opportunity and I will take it. I know that this is a big club with a lot of pressure and I have to be very mentally strong, but I am ready for it. I believe that I am at the stage where I can deal with everything and succeed and I really believe that I can.”
Final thoughts:
“There is no Israeli player who grew up here and does not know the meaning of a club like Maccabi. I’m already waiting to start and meet all the players and team. The thing I’m most looking forward to and even already imagine it happening is the return of the fans to the arenas and being able to meet the fans as a Maccabi player.”
