Hapoel Tel Aviv trounces Beitar 3-0

Hapoel Tel Aviv overwhelmed Beitar Jerusalem 3-0 as the Reds came back with a vengeance after falling to Maccabi 5-0 in last week’s Derby. Alen Ozbolt scored a brace with a goal in each half while Hisham Layous put the ball under Beiter keeper Miguel Silva for the 3rd strike in a dominating performance by Michael Valkanis’s side.

“It was a much needed win because we were very disappointed with the Derby game,” Valkanis said. “We had to work for one another and put in hard work by playing the football that we wanted to play and then we could win. We are still building and we are a new team, but we are starting to jell and we were able to bounce back after a tough result last week.”

“It was a tough night,” Beitar coach Yossi Abukasis said. “I don’t remember such a bad half of football that I have been in charge of. These fans didn’t deserve to see such a performance. We had some good chances but after their first goal things went the wrong way. We didn’t play properly and I tried to make some changes but nothing worked.”
