Hapoel Beer Sheva defeated Maccabi Netanya 2-0 to win their 11th straight and the 3-points. Rotem Hatuel took advantage of an error by the diamond city side defense to give the southern reds a quick 1-0 lead in the 8th minute while Roie Gordana blasted home a second half stunner to hand Elyaniv Barda’s team the win.
“Things are going well but as each game goes by it is also more and more difficult,” Barda said following the game. “We are very serious as to how we are taking each and every game and we are preparing properly. This was definitely one of the toughest games we will have and we have another difficult one next week against Maccabi Petach Tikva.”
“Sometimes being goof in playoff soccer isn’t enough,” Netanya coach Guy Tzarfati said. “I thought we were playing well but we didn’t get to a chance that really threatened the Beer Sheva goal. We had half chances at best and it’s disappointing to lose this way as we got them under pressure and we should have at least taken a point.”
