Hapoel Beer Sheva 2:1 Kiryat Shemona

We had a tight game and an incredible finish! With Ovidiu Huban scoring first for Beer Sheva and Ofir Mizrachi tying up the game it was up to a 94th minute John Ogu header that gave the win and three points to Beer Sheva. In a match that was played very close throughout, Romanian midfielder Huban scored in the 3rd minute to take a 1:0 lead over the visiting northern side. Striker Ofir Mizrachi drew his side even in the 20th minute as his effort found its way behind Dudu Goresh. 70 minutes of close football ensued until Ben Biton’s corner kick found John Ogu and the big man nodded the ball behind Madi Zoabi to snatch the three points and the win. Next week Beer Sheva will visit Maccabi Tel Aviv in a massive showdown at Bloomfield Stadium!

Hapoel Tel Aviv 0:0 Beitar Jerusalem

Beitar and The Reds did exactly what they did the first time the two sides met. Ended a match without a goal. Each side had a number of chances but none that were quality in nature. The midfielders on both teams controlled the pace of the game with Hapoel looking dangerous for some periods of time while Beitar’s best minutes were between the 50th and 65th but unfortunately were unable to break the deadlock. In a day that saw four goalless dates in the league a red flag must be waved to figure out a way to get scoring up as the first round of matches saw goal scoring at an almost all time low per game.

Bnei Yehuda 0:0 Maccabi Haifa

After three wins in a row and a 4:2 Haifa derby victory, Maccabi Haifa couldn’t find a way past Bnei Yehuda at Bloomfield Stadium. The Orange being managed by new coach Yossi Mizrachi was able to stymie the Green offense with the help of a 96th minute save by Aiyenugba on a 16 meter blast by Hen Ezra to come away with a split of the points.

Hapoel Haifa 3:1 Hapoel Akko

Akko took a lead in the 20th minute on a Moshiko Mishaelof penalty and then Hapoel Haifa scored three unanswered goals to take a bug victory for interim coach Meir Ben Mergi. Tomer Suissa evened up the score just four minutes later as he put away a pass from Maaran Lala from 18 meters out. Just before halftime Haifa took the lead when Suissa pinpoint corner kick was headed in by Tadas Kijanskas. The hosts then added an insurance goal by Zarko Korac good for the three points and the win.

Hapoel Kfar Saba 0:0 Hapoel Raanana

Two home games in a row for Kfar Saba and each ended the exact same way. Goalless. In a poorly played match it was questionable if points should’ve even been awarded in the zero-zero draw.

Maccabi Netanya 0:0 Maccabi Petach Tikva

Netanya was the more dangerous of the two sides with Momadou Ceesay having a marvelous chance in the 43rd minute. The striker had the whole goal in front of him but sent the ball right into keeper Nitzan’s hands as the sides picked up a point a piece.
