Hapoel Tel Aviv 83-94 Maccabi Tel Aviv

Maccabi Tel Aviv took apart Hapoel Tel Aviv 94-83 in the Big Tel Aviv Derby at the Drive-In thanks to Andrew Goudelock and Guy Pnini, each scoring 21 points a piece, going 5/8 from downtown to move to a perfect 4-0 record in the Israeli league.

The Yellow & Blue led the whole night through as a pair of wide open Pnini 3’s in the opening minutes set the tone for the evening. Gal Mekel seemed to be getting back into the swing of things playing a solid 3rd quarter dishing off two brilliant passes to Goudelock for 3’s while finishing the game off with 9 assists and 11 points. In fact, Israelis scored 41 points on the night which was an incredible number due to the lack of playing time and points Israel domestic players gave score in the Euroleague but of course the Israeli basketball rule is to have 2 Israelis on the court at all times.

Even though Sonny Weems didn’t score a basket, Victor Rudd played admirably and finished the night with 14 points and Maik Zirbes dropped 12 points in the win. For the Reds Darrell Williams recorded a double-double with 22 points and 11 rebounds and Alando Tucker added 21 points in the defeat.
