Hapoel Gilboa Galil 72-71 Hapoel Jerusalem
Hapoel Galil rallied in the 4th quarter to get the win against Hapoel Jerusalem in a close contest. Hapoel Gilboa/Galil started out strong and at the end of the first frame they led by 5 points, however they lost their lead going into halftime and were down by 6 points with 10 minutes go. In the 4th quarter, Hapoel Gilboa/Galil staged a comeback and outscored Hapoel Jerusalem 29-22 to squeak out the win with a score of 72-71. Zach LeDay dominated for Hapoel Galil recording a double double with an astonishing 22 points and 20 rebounds. Joaquin Szuchman and J’Covan Brown each scored 15 points in the win as well. Jerome Dyson led Hapoel Jerusalem chalking up 20 points with 4 rebounds, Richard Howell backed him up with 19 points and 7 rebounds. Austin Daye who missed the potential game winning shot in the last second of the game also racked up 11 points and added 7 rebounds for Hapoel Jerusalem.
Maccabi Tel Aviv 93-89 Hapoel Holon
Visting Holon handed Maccabi Tel Aviv their first defeat of the season thanks to an MVP performance by Glen Rice Jr. who dropped 28 points in the win. Tamir Blatt added 14 points going 4/7 from beyond the arc while Guy Pnini who returned to face his former team scored 10 points. Pierre Jackson led Maccabi with 20 points in a game thats saw the Yellow & Blue commit 22 turnovers compared to only 13 assists in the defeat.
Nes Ziona 72-69 Nahariya
Nes Ziona beat Nahariya Saturday night in a close match winning by a score of 72-69. The game started out with Nahariya leading in the first quarter but they never led after that. In the other three frames of the game Nes Ziona had control, However their lead started to slip when they were outscored 21-17 in the last 10 minutes of the game. Despite Nahariya’s comeback attempt they were still able to pull out the win. Talib Zanna led Nahariya in points and rebounding recording a double double scoring 19 points and grabbing 18 rebounds. Gary Browne Ramirez backed him up with a near double double with 14 points and 9 boards. Jaron Johnson also adeed 12 points in the loss. Alex Young led the charge for Nes Ziona notching 19 points with 7 rebounds, Corey Webster helped him with 15 points and Yiftach Ziv added 14 points and 6 rebounds as well.
Ashdod 80-82 Hapoel Tel Aviv
Hapoel Tel Aviv came into the game looking to pick up a 2nd win in a row in a tough away matchup in Ashdod. The game stayed close throughout all the 40 minutes but in money time Ashdod guard Sek Henry came out big with a 20 point mvp performance. Hapoel Tel Aviv missed too many chances in the dying moments of the contest that could’ve sent the game to OT but they couldn’t connect as Ashdod went on to win 82-80.
Maccabi Rishon Le’Zion 85-91 Hapoel Eilat
Eilat Coach Sharon Drucker picked up his first win in overtime with a 6-point victory at Rishon Le’Zion. Jordan Loyd (23 points), Amit Simhon (15P) and Demetrius Treadwell (15P) led the way for the visitors while Murphy Holloway recorded a double-double with 20 points and 15 rebounds for Rishon.
Maccabi Haifa 86-72 Bnei Herzliya
The Greens kept opening up their lead as each quarter went by and defeated the visiting Herzliya by 14 points. Brandon Bowman recorded a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds while Oz Blayzer (18P), Angel Rodriguez (16P), Luke Martinez (15P) also scored in double digits. Shawn Dawson and Tauren Green each had 16 points on the loss.
