After the first 40 minutes where the two clubs felt each other out, Alex Davidov gave the home team a 1-0 lead off a Yero Bello pass in the 42nd minute. Haifa was hoping to get to the dressing rooms at the half down only 1-0 but it was not to be as Timor Avitan ran circles around the Haifa defense to make it 2-0. Alex Davidov continued his strong play as he orchestrated the final two Ashdod goals, the first being scored by Israel Rosh and the second by Yero Bello. Mahran Lala took one back for the visitors with two minutes remaining but it was a too little too late.
